Dating to a calendar year that saw him register 128 points in 82 games, leading his Los Angeles Kings to a Stanley Cup Finals berth in 1992-93 and adding the last of ten (10) Art Ross Trophy’s to his shelf at the conclusion of the 1993-94 season, offered here is this stick used by “The Great One”, Wayne Gretzky circa 1993. A shimmering Easton Aluminum 5100 model with “Gretzky” graphics over the upper shaft, with this repeated on the stem of the inserted wooden Easton brand blade. Wayne’s original shaved down “Jack the Gripper” remains in place over the handle/knob with the baby powdered black blade tape still wrapped around the blade with a strand coming loose near the toe. Showing moderate levels of game-use to the inserted blade via a number of dark stick and puck marks, tears are exhibited to the forehand side of the blade tape as well. Sporting a notation reading “A.D. / 95” over the butt end in black ink that was penned by Kings equipment man Peter Millar with his hand drawn “fish” seen as well, a patented trait of any Gretzky gamer, Velcro pieces have been added to the back side of the shaft to display the stick on a wall. Additionally, hockey’s greatest player has signed the blade stem with a crisp thin black ink signature that displays without issue while a vintage Upper Deck Authentics sticker reading “BAD37315” is affixed to the lower portion of the shaft as well. Of note, tape residue also appears near the top and bottom of the shaft. From the height of his time in Tinseltown, this Gretzky gamer is definitely fit for a king!
