Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Often regarded as one of, if not the greatest goalie the National Hockey League has ever seen, Terry Sawchuk would backstop Detroit and Toronto teams to the tune of four Stanley Cups and would collect individual accolades via the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year and four Vezina Trophy’s. Passing away in 1970, Terry was posthumously elected to the HHOF in 1971. Offered here, is this Detroit Red Wings CCM Heritage Sweater style jersey with a cut signature of Sawchuk’s signature embedded into the back number. In excellent condition, the front of the size “XL” garment has been styled with a partially embroidered Red Wings winged wheel crest with Sawchuk’s number “1” decorating the reverse of the jersey in white felt. The cut signature has been inserted into the bottom of the number, with the autograph signed in blue ballpoint pen and displaying without issue. A hologram is affixed to the top of the number, with the piece also accompanied by a JSA LOA.
