Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Well remembered for his time along the Montreal Canadiens blueline, HOFer Tom Johnson actually spent more time with Boston, serving the club in different capacities for over three decades. Hailing from his personal collection, we have memorabilia from Johnson's time with the Beantowners. First, we have Johnson's Bruins suit bag. In Boston colours with a team logo screened to the reverse and a label from C/B Sports, "T.J." has been heat-pressed to the upper front, with the zippers in working order. Next, we have two plaques, with one sporting an affixed metal plate that features members of the 1977-78 Bruins, with "Presented by Boston Bruins to Tom Johnson" at the base (14" x 14", with wear, marks and scratches), while the second plaque is a Boston Garden/Fleet Center HOF award presented to Johnson in 1999 (9 1/2" x 12 1/2", with heavy wear and scratches). This is followed by a group of 6 misc. Bruins pucks, a 1964-65 Bruins schedule wallet, 1970s Bruins postcard booklet (postcards are still attached except Ed Johnston, no Orr, wear to the group), 5 matching Orr postcards (light wear), 2 Johnson team-issued photos (playing days, 5" x 7"), 6 early-1990s Penguins Wales Conference Finals ticket stubs, 6 Gilles Gilbert postcards, a circa 1980 Bruins team photo (4" x 5"), 6 1960s misc. Johnson photos, a 1975-76 Bruins team photo signed by Ken Hodge and Don Marcotte (8" x 10"), two small photos of Johnson with the Stanley Cup and a group of 19 mostly vintage 8" x 10" photos including a pair of Bruins team photos (heavy wear to the group). An LOA from the Johnson family will accompany.
