Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Popular and somewhat of a challenge to find with good centering is Bobby Orr's second-year Topps card, with this example of card #92 recently assessed by KSA and slabbed 5 EX. A light (bottom left) corner touch is barely detectable when viewing the front, with edge wear observed in the middle of the right edge. We also should note that a very light vertical "line" or wrinkle, caused by the production process and oftentimes seen in Topps/O-Pee-Chee issues of the era, is a 3/4-inch affair descending from Bobby's ear. Interestingly, Orr was limited to just 46 games due to injury the season that cards like this were pulled from 5-cent packs but still won the Norris Trophy and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team, and in both instances, for the first of eight! straight years. No scratches to the KSA holder are to report.
