Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
After appearing on an oversized card as a member of Canada's national junior team a couple of years earlier, soon-to-be NHL superstar Mario Lemieux was featured on his first official rookie cards in 1985-86, after his first big-league season. Mario's impressive rookie season numbers which earned him the Calder Memorial Trophy, (43 goals and an even 100 points), are viewable on the reverse of this O-Pee-Chee RC, recently examined and graded 6.5 ENM+ by KSA. Three of the four corners include a light touch or ding, with the image of the young scoring machine a little right of center. The machine cranked things up to 48 goals and 93 assists for 141 points the season that cards like this were found in wax packs. No scratches to the KSA holder are observed.
