Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

First known as “the Comet” for his outright, straight-forward and launching attacks, teammate Ray Getliffe once commented that Maurice Richard “went in like a rocket” when approaching the opposing goal, with the superstar then forever dubbed “the Rocket”. Featuring the iconic superstar that sadly left us in 2000 at the age of 78, we offer a collection of items signed by Richard totaling 13. Included, we have six books signed by Maurice along with six postcards and a single wedding menu. First, the books include soft cover works “After the Applause” (signed in black ink, with some minor bleeding occurring), “Maurice Richard – Un geant du Quebec” (thin black ink), “Numero 9” (black ink signature, with moderate wear to the book) and “L’idole d’un peuple” (signed in blue ballpoint with personalization), along with the hard cover books “Les Canadiens sont la!” (black marker signature with greeting, wear to the dust jacket) and “Un bon exemple de tenacite” (signed in ballpoint with personalization). The postcards are all modern including a pair of Molson’s along with a Masters of Hockey example, with varying inks used, with a few signatures appearing to be late-in-life specimens, with just light handling wear to the group. Lastly, the fold-over greeting card-sized wedding menu hails from 1981 and has been signed in blue ballpoint, with the signature flawless.
