The official Upper Deck rookie card of the one and only Tiger Woods headlines this offering, with card #1 from 2001 one of only two cards of Tiger that carry the “RC” designation. We cannot spot a single flaw but will say at least NM-MT. Tiger’s prolific year that preceded his rookie card release is summed up on the reverse, reading “In 2000, Woods came through with one of the greatest seasons in sports history. He ranked first on the TOUR in seven categories and had nine wins, including three of golf’s four majors (U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship).” Another card of Woods (2002 Upper Deck #1) and two of Canadian Mike Weir are also present, as are cards from other sports. A 2012-13 Panini Brilliance basketball rookie card of Anthony Davis carries some value/allure, while a 1975 O-Pee-Chee rookie card of Gary Carter is VG and accompanied by 30-some Carter cards from the ‘80s and ‘90s. There’s a little Toronto Blue Jays action, including 11 first year (1977) OPC cards, an autographed ’81 OPC Ernie Whitt card and (22) ’87 Fleer Glossy entries. Eighteen cards of former pitcher Dave LaRoche, miscellaneous football cards (’70 Topps 249-Alex Karras, ’75 Topps 322-Lyle Alzado), a 2004 Press Pass Skidmarks card of Robby Gordon (082/500) and a 2004 Upper Deck soccer (rookie) card of Freddy Adu are notable, with a few pleasant surprises possible among the remainder. Woods, Davis, Carter and the rest will provide some fun!
