Hailing from the largest hockey family in history as one of six brothers to all grace the NHL, Brent Sutter enjoyed a lengthy career shared between the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks. This Chicago Blackhawks alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the 2-time Stanley Cup champion during the 1997 Stanley Cup Playoffs. A Center Ice label along with a “52” Nike size swatch grace the collar, with embroidered NHL and Nike crests over the reverse bottom hem featuring a handwritten 3 in black ink on the inside of the NHL shield, denoting “Set 3”. Styled with the famous multi-coloured Indian head Black Hawks team crest with chain-stitched detailing along with the alternate captain’s “A” over the left breast, gorgeous matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests reside over each shoulder. the sleeve and verso of the air-knit V-neck have had Sutter’s number “12” sewn to the them in dual layer tackle twill with “Sutter” spelt across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white letters. Despite playing in just two playoff games that season, the jersey shows good game-use through stick marks found over the sleeves and body of the jersey along with an unrepaired hole at the right hip, loose threads, small liquid stains to the lower front and left sleeve number “2”, a board burn to the right sleeve, snags/pulls and a fight strap that shows evidence of multiple washings. Accompanied by a Blackhawks LOA, a MeiGray COR is also included.
