Well remembered for the enthusiastic celebration at the conclusion of Game 5 by superstar Alexander Ovechkin, the Washington Capitals soundly defeated the expansion Vegas Golden Knights in the 2018 Stanley Cup final to claim the franchise’s first championship. Ovie led the playoffs in scoring and earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP.
This 2018 Washington Capitals Stanley Cup champions sterling silver and 10K gold and diamond ring was presented to a staff member. Size 12 ½ with an approx weight of 45 hefty grams and produced with both sterling silver and white and yellow gold, the ring includes pave-set round diamonds. Featuring a blue and red enamel Caps logo that sits raised with a trio of custom-cut star-shaped rubies inserted above, additional diamonds surround the logo. 22 custom taper-cut rubies also encircle the logo, with “Stanley Cup” above in raised letters, and “Champions” below. The left shank has the United States Capitol building with custom-cut sapphire and ruby stones, with an enamel Caps logo and “McKinley” above, while the right contains an image of Lord Stanley’s hardware with three inserted custom-cut star-shaped rubies, with “2018” and “Washington” above. The inner band has "Jostens 925/10K" stamped.
The ring remains in gorgeous condition, sporting a few scratches including over the outside band from use. An attractive black lacquer presentation/display case with etched glass cover that lights up will accompany.
