With four Stanley Cup titles and a pair of 100-point seasons on his resume, Peter Mahovlich had a seat at the table when the Montreal Canadiens celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2009. Among the Canadiens items here from Pete’s personal collection is his 2009 Centennial Gala dinner plate. Featuring six historic iterations of the Canadiens logo around the lip and the Habs’ “100” 1909-2009 logo in the middle, the plate measures 12” in diameter with “Gala du Centenaire, Canadiens de Montreal, 4 decembre 2009, edition limitee (limited edition)” on the back. Two panoramic photos of the Canadiens’ massive Centennial team photo taken on Dec. 4, 2009 including a sprawling 14” x 60” print as well as a 10” x 15” print are also included along with a program from the final game at the Montreal Forum on March 11, 1996 and a copy of Stan Fishler’s mid-1970s “Speed and Style: The Montreal Canadiens” softcover book.
Figurines of the Mahovlich brothers, Frank and Pete, in their respective Habs uniforms are skating adjacent to a Stanley Cup mounted in the middle of a blue-colored wood base with a “Montreal Canadiens, Stanley Cup Champions, Frank and Peter Mahovlich” plaque.
Three pucks, including one with an image of Peter in his No. 20 Habs uniform with four Stanley Cups in the background, an official NHL game puck from Serge Savard’s jersey retirement night on Nov. 18, 2006, and a Canadian Association of New York puck with the Canadiens’ centennial logo on the front and “31st Annual Hockey Achievement Award Dinner, New York City, June 22, 2009”, a Russian ceramic No. 20 Canadiens player, three pins (Savard 18 jersey retirement, a Canadiens centennial logo, and a CH pin), and a size XL Montreal Canadiens hockey club red jacket with 10 various hockey pins on front. Comes with Peter Mahovlich’s signed LOA.
