Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

We know a few of the songs that you may well be humming or singing after securing this intriguing offering, with depictions of The Monkees appearing on wax packs and the display box. These were released in Canada and 19 sealed 5-cent packs are joined by one whose seal is broken. That allows us to tell you that within are three color cards and a small stick of gum (stuck to one of the cards), with the trio all having numbers preceding “C” on the fronts (7-C (with the gum), 36-C and 39-C). We’ve examined the other packs and deem them to be unopened, although they’re being offered as is and are not returnable. Condition issues are to report, with most having corner wear and a split or hole at a corner or two. Black stains, looking to have been caused by some black substance at the bottom of the box’s interior, partially affect the back of half a dozen packs while another few have some black marks on the front. “1st SERIES” appears on the wrapper fronts, while the backs inform of the cards being made and printed in the U.S.A., with the paper made and printed in Canada and the gum made in Canada. The top of the display box has become detached and exhibits significant fading, with “MADE AND PRINTED IN CANADA” on the box bottom. The back panel informs, "The Monkees From The NBC Television Show – Distributed By Harold P. Cowan Co., Limited – Don Mills, Ontario.” All-in-all, surely mighty cool in the eyes of many – “Hey, Hey with the Monkees!”
