Making lengthy appearances in both the WHL and AHL before making his NHL debut with Detroit in 1998-99, Stacy Roest spent parts of three seasons in Motown in two separate stints, with additional seasons with Minnesota. The Lethbridge native also captained Team Canada at the 2012 Spengler Cup, and concluded his career in Switzerland with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. This Detroit Red Wings jersey was worn by Roest during his sophomore NHL season in 1999-00. A CCM label and size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with additional embroidered NHL and CCM patches over the reverse hem. Featuring the classic winged-wheel team crest, “23” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Roest” across the upper reverse in matching material. The NHL 2000 patch is sewn just above the right breast. Sporting heavy game-use, there is considerable wear to the material throughout, with stick marks over the front and sleeves. There is also a slit on the upper right sleeve, with numerous team repairs over each elbow section. The team patch denoting the garment as a “1st Set” specimen is screened over the inside hem.
