Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
One of the game’s all-time greatest scorers, Ron Francis saw action in over 1,700 contests throughout his 23 NHL seasons, and was second only to Wayne Gretzky for career assists upon his retirement in 2004. The 2007 HOF inductee also earned considerable hardware including the Frank J. Selke, Lady Byng and a pair of Stanley Cups. From the mid-to-late-1990s, we have a signed stick used by the superstar, with this specific type of model used by Francis during his final seasons in Pittsburgh as well as his first season in Carolina (1998-99). A Franklin 8050 Graphite model with inserted Franklin Pro wooden blade, the original black tape is in place on the blade, with white cloth wrap on the knob with “10” handwritten. Moderate game-use is shown, with wear to the taped section of blade including the underside, with a few marks and surface abrasions to the shaft. Tape was removed from the blade near the heel to allow Francis to place a black marker signature across the front side.
