Enjoying a connection with the city of Detroit that included winning a pair of Stanley Cup championships throughout two stints with the Red Wings, Joey Kocur later served as president of the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association and also created the "The Joe Kocur Foundation for Children". From the season of his third Stanley Cup victory with Motor City as the team’s video coach, and awarded for Detroit’s status as Western Conference playoff champions in 2001-02, we have the Clarence Campbell championship trophy originally presented to Mr Kocur. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “Joey Kocur – Video Coordinator – Detroit Red Wings – 2001-02” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. The brown felt underside also sports a decal from noted NHL trophy maker Boffey. Hailing from Joey Kocur’s personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Displaying wonderfully, there is an even coat of tarnishing throughout, with surface wear over the handles. No dent or dings are visible, with the base free of wear or marks.
