The first time teams would be divided by nationality, the 1998 NHL All-Star Game took place in Vancouver at General Motors Place, on Jan 18, 1998, with the North American squad pulling out a slim victory over the World Team, 8-7. This Team North America jersey was worn by Keith Tkachuk in this his third of six NHL All-Star contests in 1998. With CCM and “58” size tagging affixed to the collar, there is also CCM, NHL and NHLPA embroidered crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a partially-embroidered NHL shield crest in black and silver, the garment has been accented with oversized triple-twill numbers, along with an American flag crest sewn to the right breast. The right shoulder features the ’98 All-Star Game patch, while the left has a Phoenix Coyotes team crest. An NHL inventory number of “LIT119” has been sewn directly onto the fight strap, and it denotes that this garment is one of 5 issued to Tkachuk for the contest (official photo shoot, pre-game warm-up, and one for each of the three periods). Keith has added a thin black marker signature on the reverse “”7”, and we should note that no signs of game-use is visible on the garment.
