This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The Big Ten University’s final season in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, and drawing the largest crowd in college hockey history while facing archrival Michigan State at Michigan Stadium, the Michigan Wolverines finished atop the standings at the conclusion of the 2010-11 collegiate hockey season, two points ahead of Notre Dame. Led by longtime coach Red Berenson, the school was crowned regular-season champions and advanced to the Frozen Four. This ring was presented to Berenson for the Wolverines status as CCHA regular-season champions. Size 11 ½ with an approx weight of 32 grams, a gold-coloured Michigan “M” sits within a blue background in a diamond-shaped motif on the tableau, with “Michigan” above and “Hockey” below. The right shank sports a Frozen Four logo with “CCHA Season Champions” above and “2011” below, while the left features “The Big Chill” logo (the Dec 11, 2010 contest against Michigan State at Michigan Stadium) with “Berenson” above and “HC” below. The inner band is engraved with "LTM" (Lustrium) and "Gordon Berenson". Showing light to moderate wear from use, there are scratches over the outer band and shanks, with the ring displaying beautifully. A signed LOA from Red Berenson will accompany.
