Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
The penmanship of Stanley Cup winners, Hall of Famers and others will garner the interest of longtime Montreal Canadiens faithful, as well as autograph enthusiasts, with Yvan Cournoyer leading a six-pack of signed cards from the popular Habs INKS segment of the Upper Deck Canadiens Centennial set. Other are Brunet, Gingras, Higgins, Quintal and Youppi, with HOF d-men Butch Bouchard (green)(12/35) and Larry Robinson (brown) featured with their sigs on “Brushstrokes” canvas-like cards from Upper Deck’s 2008-09 Masterpieces issue – nice. With immense eye appeal are three multi-signed cards which were not pulled from packs but rather limited edition productions signed at Bossa Productions Sports Collectible Shows, as indicated on the reverse of each. The autograph of Mike Bossy joins those of Henri Richard, Jean Beliveau, Cournoyer and Guy Lafleur on a Tall Boy-size card hand-numbered “5/9”, while “8/9” appears with the sigs of the same four Habs legends on a standard-size card entitled “Les Habitant” and a Historic Headliners card features red ink autos of Beliveau and Lafleur – a killer trio of Bossa productions. A snazzy Panini Anthology Home and Native Land issue (101/117) includes a Cournoyer signature, with In The Game’s 1972 The Year in Hockey cards signed by Cournoyer and Jacques Lemaire. There are two of the same Henri Richard-signed 2015-16 Leaf Signature Series Champions cards and two of Claude Lemieux from Parkhurst’s 2011-12 Champions issue. Completing are signed cards of Pete Mahovlich (ITG Forever Rivals), Ryan Walter, Chris Higgins, Valeri Bure, Yannick Weber and Phil Myre, the latter not a pack-pull but an in-person autograph. All sorts of possibilities with this splendid years-in-the-making stash.
