Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

O-Pee-Chee cards and inserts here cannot boast of being in tiptop shape but will be good to fill in some holes or for those not requiring high grade material, with Tony Esposito’s 1969-70 rookie card (F) joined by Gordie Howe’s Mr. Hockey (no number) card from the same set, the latter a more attractive VG+ entry. Also decent looking is #70-Bobby Hull, although it’s low grade due to paper loss on the reverse, above where an insert stamp is affixed. Also from ’69-70 but multi-creased are 30-Phil Esposito (remnants of a removed stamp) and 89-Parent. The nicer of two Bobby Clarke rookies is VG, with the other F, while other ’70-71 representatives are 29-Howe (G), 15-Hull (G characteristics but with pen marks in Bobby’s hair), 153-Tony O (G+), 1-Cheevers (G), 20-Mikita (VG-EX), 40-Worsley (2)(VG-EX+, EX) and 49-Vachon (EX+). Rogie and Dave Keon highlight the 18 (of 28) more attractive Deckle Edge inserts from ’70-71. No obvious creases to report but they’re low grade with back damage, with four others creased and a half-dozen (Beliveau, Mahovlich) heavily creased and hammered. There’s a ’71-72 Marcel Dionne (F) rookie card in the mix, while completing are ’72-73 entries; checklists 6 and 19 are unmarked and EX, with 8-Dionne and 58-Orr in Action both VG and goalies 28-Worsley (EX-MT) and 100-Vachon (EX+) both off-centered.
