Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Serving as back-up to HOF superstars Jacques Plante and Gump Worsley throughout his time with the Montreal Canadiens from the mid-1950s to mid-to-late-1960s, Charlie Hodge earned a pair of Vezina Trophies along with selection to three NHL All-Star Games. This signed stick was used by the Lachine native during the circa mid-1960s with the Habs before moving on to the Oakland Seals and Vancouver Canucks (1967 to 1971). A Northland Pro Glass Fused model with “Hodge” stamped to the upper shaft, his preferred lie of “14” is listed, with stamps from Northland on each side. The original black tape is in place over the blade, paddle and knob, with most of the striping accents intact. Heavy game-use is exhibited on the vintage lumber, with considerable wear to the taped section of blade which includes cracks to the blade at the heel, with a large section of wood missing along an edge on the upper shaft. There is also heavy red paint transfer to the shaft. Hodge added a thin silver ink signature across the taped section of paddle, with the signature displaying well against the black background.
