A three-time NHL All-Star, Mike Richter spent his entire 14-season career in Manhattan with the Blueshirts, and helped lead the club to the 1994 Stanley Cup championship. From the 1997-98 NHL season – one that witnessed the goaltender also represent the US at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, we have a stick used by Richter with “12/20” notation. Battling Tampa Bay to a 2-2 draw on Dec 20, 1997, with the stick attributed to that contest, the Vic model has “M Richter” stamped, with the original white tape over the blade and upper shaft/knob, with the striping accent over the handle gone. The aforementioned notation of “12/20” has been written over the upper shaft (we previously sold a matching style model used by Richter with "12/26/97” notation in 2014), with the stick exhibiting heavy game-use throughout with wear and marks to the taped section of blade, paddle and shaft, with numerous areas of red paint transfer. There are also a few minor chips along edges of the paddle.
