Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Attended by a mere 32,000 plus; far from capacity, venerable old Yankee Stadium, the home of the Bronx Bombers and The House That Ruth Built witnessed it's historic final game in September of 1973 before renovations, with fans saying farewell by pilfering the fifty-year-old structure for momentos and keepsakes. The visiting Detroit Tigers put a damper on the day with an 8-5 victory. We offer a ticket stub to the historic "last game at old Yankee Stadium". A Lower Stand Box Seat with a face value of $4.00, the Sept 30th date is listed, with "Last Game" written in ballpoint on the front and the score, "Det - 8 NY - 5" added to the reverse. Sporting expected handling wear, there are no large obtrusive creases, with the ticket displaying well. We should also note that the PSA Population Report shows just 11 total authenticated September 30, 1973 Yankees full tickets and stubs, including 7 full tickets and 4 stubs.
