Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Former Montreal Canadiens' general manager Sam Pollock rated the acquisition of Frank Mahovlich by the Habs as one of the (top two!) most important and best trades that he ever made. Acquired from Detroit in January of 1971, the star left winger later that spring helped Montreal to upset the mighty Bruins and continue on to Stanley Cup glory, leading all playoff scorers with 14 goals and 27 points in 20 games. The Big M then had a career-high 96 points (43 goals) the following season and in his 3-1/2 campaigns with Montreal racked up 129 goals and 310 points in 263 regular season games and another 59 points in 49 playoff tilts - what a player! And what a beautiful signature, with three Mahovlich autographed cards destined for Upper Deck's special and immensely popular Canadiens Centennial set from 2008-09 offered here but never included in the product. We're not sure why but are certain that Canadiens Centennial card fanatics will be astonished at their sight and the chance to obtain them! A Habs INKS card is joined by a HOF Induction INKS example, the latter serial-numbered "62/81" on the front, while Frank's AKA Signings card was limited to just 25 copies, with the one involved here numbered "24/25." The cards were obtained from the Mahovlich family and originated from the Hall of Famer's personal collection. No condition issues are observed and they'll come with a Letter of Authenticity from the Mahovlich family - superb!
