Seeing action with Team Canada at the 1990 World Juniors as well as playing in the Memorial Cup that season with Kamloops, Mike Needham was drafted by Pittsburgh in 1989. Dressing for the club in parts of three seasons which included winning a Stanley Cup championship in 1992, this Penguins jersey was worn by the Calgary native in 1993-94, where he appeared in 25 regular-season games. A Maska label with handwritten “39” and a size “50” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with “Pittsburgh” placed diagonally across the chest in individual layered tackle twill letters, “39” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with alternate crests gracing each shoulder. Exhibiting thorough use with numerous marks over the lower front, pilling to the interior and a well-washed fight strap, there is also a small stain over the left elbow.
