Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Someone’s inheritance here can become a fun project for you, with a little vintage sports card action accompanying thousands of modern cards, the latter highlighted by well over 100 jersey and patch cards. Hall of Famers and stars appearing include Lemieux, Roy, Brodeur, Yzerman, Messier, Sakic, Lindros, Shanahan, Robinson, Shutt, Perreault, Dionne, Vachon, Tony Esposito, McDonald, MacInnis, Robitaille, Belfour, Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, Thornton, Lundqvist, Lindbergh, Felix Potvin and others, with some showing up more than once. There are over a dozen boxes that originally held packs, with the cards from the opened packs simply put back into the said boxes, with Parkhurst, Bee Hive, Upper Deck and other products ready for you to look through (lots of base cards and intermittent inserts/surprises). There are three tins from Upper Deck’s 2008-09 Canadiens Centennial issue with cards inside, a stack of Wayne Gretzky cards, reproduction sets of Parkhurst issues from the ‘50s, custom-made cards, boxes of miscellaneous cards and still more. …..The most fun could very well be checking out star, insert and other cards housed in toploaders and a heavy custom-made box. Well over 200 Gretzky cards are joined by numerous Roy, Brodeur, Lemieux, Orr and other star cards, with retired players, goalies (“Pipes”), then-current stars and others involved. Another similar custom-made box is home to more Canadiens Centennial cards and considerable amounts of Bee Hive cards. …..As for the older material, a small binder of CFL cards is highlighted by a near set from 1961 (mostly VG, VG+ and VG-EX cards) with a checklist present but heavily marked in pen and Jackie Parker (4), Russ Jackson, Sam Etcheverry and Hal Patterson among 20-some from other years. A little baseball card action is noteworthy, with 1969 Topps cards (50+) featuring stars McCovery, Jenkins, Brooks Robinson, Stargell and Gibson All-Star ,and Willie Mac appearing on ’70 O-Pee-Chee regular and All-Star issues. Hours of sorting, organizing, pricing and other endeavors await the new owner!
