Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Looking like they’ve had but one owner who took very good care of his cards is this rather inviting batch of 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee cards, pulled from packs while Boston superstar Bobby Orr was in the midst of his dream season, capping it with his famous Stanley Cup-winning goal. With minimal creasing (we count but 15 with a light crease), the ensemble is made up of mostly EX, EX+ and EX-MT representatives, (intermittent NMs are also observed), along with mostly impressive clean, unblemished surfaces, with two dozen with original (removable) wax stains also to note. Bobby’s regular (#24) card, (like all but three other of the (26) total candidates), has a stamp insert affixed neatly in place on the reverse and is otherwise EX-MT, similar to his 209-Norris Trophy entry, with 212-All-Star at EX. Stamps not present on card backs are those of Cournoyer, Vadnais and Mikita, with tape stains affecting the latter, meaning that Howe (o/w EX+), Hull (o/w EX-MT (ST)), Esposito, Parent and Beliveau also have stamps present. Key rookie cards are those of Tony Esposito (EX-MT but with fading of the blue back) and Serge Savard (VG-EX), with 1-Worsley (VG) and 231-Stanley Cup (VG) also among the few notable condition exceptions. The no-number versions of Howe Mr. Hockey (VG+) and 205-Esposito Ross/Hart (214 erroneously on the back)(VG+) are also to note, with both checklists filled-in and with multiple light creases. From the original to you these appealing classic collectibles may go.
