Despite playing in the smallest CFL market, Rider Nation has proved especially formidable, with the Saskatchewan Roughriders having earned a record 28 Western Championships along with 19 appearances at the Grey Cup. From the era of the club’s 1966 Grey Cup championship and slightly earlier, we have a group of four items, with a 1963 presentation team photo in its original display folder, a high-grade and rarely seen 1967 calendar and two period 8” x 10” photos of Taylor Field – with one approx from the 1940s, the other, the 1950s. First, the 1963 team photo is 8” x 10” with the players listed at the base, and inserted into a presentation photo, with the photographer Don Webb listed on the folder (light overall wear with a few small marks to the folder), this is followed by the calendar, which is 7” x 9 ½” and remains unused, in like-new condition. The aerial photos both show the historic venue during game-action, with period cars lining the perimeter of Taylor Field – with each sporting a stamp on the reverse from each respective photographer, with light to moderate handling wear to the pair, with the 1940s image showing toning and numerous small surface wrinkles.
