Coming off a career high 31.4 points-per-game during the 2005-06 season, LeBron James would don the red, white and blue of Team USA for the 2006 FIBA World Championships in Japan that summer, leading the United States to an 8-1 record and returning home with a bronze medal to add to his trophy case. Known as “King James”, the budding superstar wore these personalized and self-styled Nike Zoom LeBron III during the course of the tournament with Team USA. Measuring out to size 16 and stylized in the American colours, “Japan 2006” is embroidered on the inside of each tongue while American flags decorate the inside of each shoe near the toe. Void of their insoles, the shoes also carry James’ personal logos throughout. The shoes display beautifully while exhibiting just light wear with a mark on the toe of the left shoe as well as scuffing on the inside heel with similar scuffing and marks found on the heel of the right shoe. A certificate of authenticity from Photo-Match.com, a trusted industry authenticator used by numerous big auction houses, will accompany the piece.
