Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Entertaining Quebec Aces fans for two seasons in the early-1950s before making his mark on the Montreal Canadiens and the hockey world at large, Jean Beliveau scored 175 points for the Aces in 117 contests, from 1950-51 to and including 1952-53. In use from 1947 at the home of the Aces, the Quebec Coliseum, until removed in 2007, we have a single red arena seat signed by Jean Beliveau. At approx 31” in height, the solid red wooden seat and back rest with metal components has the lucky number “13” stenciled along the top of the seat rest in white, with a white decal “A” over the lower left side as the seat was placed along an aisle. Beliveau has added a flawless silver paint pen signature to the seat rest, along with “#9”, “As de Quebec” and “1951-53”. A sticker has been affixed to the underside of seat by ExpoCite, with a matching COA to accompany.
The seat and metal components all show expected wear from use, with minor paint loss along edges – especially over the right arm rest, with a few small areas of orange paint including over the reverse of the seat back. There is also some minor rusting to the metal components over the lower sections.
