Selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1993, netminder Felix Potvin dressed for a pair of NHL All-Star Games during the decade, including in 1996, a season that witnessed the keeper setting a now-broken record of most shots faced in a season. From the twilight of his noteworthy career, we have a blocker and glove combination worn by Potvin, with the glove worn with the Los Angeles Kings in 2000-01 - and possibly as a practice/back-up glove, while the blocker was used with the Vancouver Canucks in 1999-00. Brian’s models in navy and royal blue, “Felix Potvin” is embroidered to each, along with affixed Felix the Cat leather patches. Unknown if used in games and/or practices, the Brian’s logos have been blacked-out on the blocker, with additional identifiers over the wrist guard and top covered with small leather patches. It is also not known if the blocker was later used in any capacity with the Los Angeles Kings after his trade to the club. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Both items show nice game-use, with heavier and more pronounced wear to the blocker including numerous marks along edges and rubbing to the leather in spots. The glove exhibits surface wear to the pocket, with a grey reinforcing patch added.
