Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Producing one of the greatest seasons for any goaltender throughout the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Felix Potvin saw action in 54 regular-season contests for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in 1990-91, his third season with the club, and posted the league’s best GAA and save percentage. Numerous accolades and awards were also earned, including CHL Goaltender of the Year and Memorial Cup Most Outstanding Goaltender, while also being named the QMJHL Defensive Player of the Year and Playoffs MVP (Guy Lafleur Trophy). We have a QMJHL All-Star jersey worn by Potvin that has been attributed to the 1990-91 All-Star Game. A Maska Ultrafil label with handwritten “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest added to the reverse hem. Styled with the QMJHL logo heat-pressed to the chest, “29” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Potvin” pressed to the sewn nameplate in white vinyl. There is also evidence of a former nameplate. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Sporting moderate game-use with wear to the material and a few marks and burns visible, the “29” over the reverse shows damage, with the upper blue vinyl layer on the “2” of “29” gone, with this peeling over the “9”, with the white base of each number also showing cracks to the material.
