Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The top of the line automobile produced by the company in 1932, and originally sold as “DeLuxe Coupe Automobile with Automatic Siren”, we have a Fire Chief pressed steel wind-up toy car produced by Manhattan’s Hoge Manufacturing Company. Constructed of heavy gauge pressed steel with a weight of almost 3.5 lbs, the solid red body sports embossed hood louvers, doors, roof, and window frames, with the chassis, running boards, fenders and bumpers in contrasting black. The original Hoge solid rubber tires are intact along with rear mounted chrome plated tire carrier and removable screw-in key, with the battery-driven wind-up mechanism operational. The “Fire Chief” decal is intact over the passenger-side door and shows minor wear, with the left head lamp a replacement, with just this lamp in working order. The original paint shows light wear throughout, with just a few small areas of rusting, with the front bumper just slightly pushed in.
