Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
One of the modern era’s toughest enforcers, which even prompted the retirement of Georges Laraque, as the rock-hard winger feared possible injury from the especially rugged fighter, Derek Boogaard spent six seasons in the NHL, primarily with Minnesota, and sadly left us at the young age 28, in May of 2011. From his time in the WHL with Prince George, we have a Cougars jersey worn by the Saskatoon native in 1999-00. Bauer and RMC labels with “54” sizing are affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Bauer crest on the reverse hem. Styled with a tackle twill Cougars team crest, “26” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Boogaard” heat-pressed to the affixed nameplate in white vinyl. Featuring a custom-lengthened hem and sleeves, the jersey sports light game-use, with a few marks and material pulls over each sleeve, with a slit near the left elbow.
