Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Proudly sporting arguably the most attractive and without a doubt the most patriotic uniform ever witnessed in the sport, the New York Americans looked better than they played unfortunately, with the club only managing a pair of semifinal appearances throughout their 17-season NHL tenure. Highly coveted by collectors, we offer a pair of New York Americans real photo postcards, with an example from 1938-39 signed by Al Murray, who spent seven seasons with the club (1933-40), along with a postcard we have never handled before featuring the 1933-34 Americans. Both at approx the standard 3 ½” x 5 ½” and with each featuring a postal reverse, the 1933-34 postcard pictures the team in the typical on-ice team pose, while the 1938-39 example depicts the Big Apple squad in an attractive panoramic formation. Murray has signed over the bottom right, adding a personalization, with the signature displaying well and remaining dark.
