Awarded countless hardware during his HOF career, including a trio of Hart Memorial Trophies, Bobby Clarke appeared at each and every NHL All-Star contest from 1970, to and including 1978 (named to the NHL First All-Star team in 1976, Clarke did not play in the match). This West Division All-Stars jersey was worn by Clarke at the 1973 NHL All-Star Game in Minnesota, and it’s accompanied by his official framed team photo. The first year of the attractive orange All-Star jerseys and considered by collectors to be some of the most appealing ever produced, a Cosby label with “42” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered NHL shield crest dominating the chest, with additional shield crests over both breasts and shoulders. Each sleeve is also adorned with a white star adhered between the dual-colour striping bands, with another half dozen matching examples evenly spaced across the front and reverse lower band. “16” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in black-over-white tackle twill, with “Clarke” placed directly over the upper reverse in individual letters.
Sporting just light expected use, with the colouration remaining especially bright, we should note a number of pinholes visible on the front and sleeves from a prior framing. The official All-Star team photo is 7” x 9” and affixed to a mount with the players listed beneath, framed to 13 ½” x 15 ½”, with light wear to the frame.
