Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The record holder for the most goals in a season by a defencemen, Paul Coffey is second only to Ray Bourque for career goals, assists and points. From the twilight of his Hall of Fame career in the late-1990s, we have a signed stick used by the iconic blueliner during his time with the Carolina Hurricanes. A Sher-Wood PMP 7000 model with “Coffey 77” graphics over the upper shaft, “Handcrafted exclusively for Paul Coffey” appears along the underside, with the stick retaining the original black tape over the handle. “Carolina” is also visible, stamped on the lower shaft, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large black marker signature from Coffey. Just light game-use is exhibited, with a large chip to the lower shaft over the striping accent. There is also minor tape residue visible on two areas of the shaft.
