Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Witnessed by over 30,000 at Syracuse’s Carrier Dome, the 2015 AHL Frozen Dome Classic took place on Nov 22, 2014 and pitted the Syracuse Crunch against the Utica Comets, with Andrei Vasilevskiy allowing just a single goal in the 2-1 victory while wearing the offered photo-matched goaltenders mask. A Vaughn model by Dom Malerba (signed and dated on inside) with intact cage, back plate and interior padding, the paint scheme was executed by Sylvie Marsolais of Sylabrush and features “Frozen Dome Classic” over the forehead and “Vasy” in stylized script over the chin section, with a Crunch logo added to the back plate. Worn for just a single contest, the mask remains in gorgeous new condition, with just light wear present which includes a few very small edge chips. The mask has been matched by the paint scheme to numerous online articles and half a dozen images. Vasilevsky played in 25 games for the Crunchin 2014-15 and also played in 16 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning (rookie season). A Vaughn storage/carry bag will also accompany with the mask.
