Some entertainment and opportunities are on the block here and we’ll first take care of the O-Pee-Chee baseball card portion mentioned in our title, led chronologically by a near set (369/374) from 1980, with Rose, McCovey and two checklists among the missing, while 11 cards (Rose, Reggie) are required to finish off a similar 374-card assembly from ’81. Five cards are not present from ’82 (Seaver IA, Yaz, Brett AS, Winfield, Carew IA) and just two from ’83, with about half of an almost-full 800-count box of OPC doubles featuring ‘83s but only a little star power throughout. ...We’re most fond of the Kellogg’s contributors, with Brock and Frank Robinson highlighting eight from 1970 and a complete ’72 set of 54 led by superstars of the day. There are also sets from ’81 (66) and ’82 (64), and similar to the ‘72s, no condition issues are observed. Also in the binder with the Kellogg’s cards are miscellaneous Montreal Expos Hygrade entries (6), ’83 and’84 (Rose x 2) Stuart cards, Provigo cards, sets of ’81 and ’82 O-Pee-Chee mini-posters (Expos and Blue Jays), two dozen Hostess potato chip mini cards in original cellophane packaging and a couple of other pages of goodies. Topps poster inserts from 1970 total 18 different (out of 24), with moderate wear to report. ...Then it’s on to the aforementioned entertainment in the way of dozens and dozens of older baseball and sports magazines, led in quantity by over six dozen issues of Baseball Digest, mostly from the ‘80s but with a few dating back to the ‘70s, the latter picturing Clemente, Aaron on Rose on the covers. Fifteen “SPORT” magazines from the ‘60s star Koufax, Mays, Musial, Maris and Jim Brown on the covers, while a box of Montreal Expos magazines/publications and baseball card price guides and related mags unfortunately suffered some water damage, with however a few ‘80s Yankees and other yearbooks, along with a few Sports Illustrated issues escaping the moisture. Full-page color cutouts from older SPORT mags and other miscellaneous items are also to discover…..and we almost forgot about one final box of goodies, highlighted by over 50 Montreal Expos ticket stubs, mostly from the ‘80s (and mostly creased), a creased 1977 Grey Cup ticket stub, more early-‘80s OPC Expos and Blue Jays posters, two-card Hostess panels featuring the same two teams, Expos pocket schedules (9), a stack of two dozen miscellaneous MLB All-Star Game ballots (most punched), a stack of ’83 OPC stickers and still more items to check out.
