Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A gentleman’s collection here features “regular” Topps issues stored back-to-back in Enor pages and dates back to a complete 1983 set. Like with the other binders, NM, NM-MT and MINT cards carefully inserted into pockets look to be the norm, but we’re not sure what happened to the key Tony Gwynn rookie card; it has dinged corners/edges and is but VG. An ’84 binder has just over 50 missing cards, including the Don Mattingly RC. A touched corner is observed on the Mark McGwire rookie (NM) pulled from the ’85 binder, with Puckett (NM+) and Clemens (NM-MT) better. Yet another 792-card effort is from ’86, with no real money cards to note and then things jump to an ’88 complete set, while an ’89 set is in cellophane-sealed factory set from. A run of five Topps Traded sets in their original boxes is from 1983 to ’87 and we’ve pulled the cards of interest for you to have a look. The winning bidder will also get to look through well over 2000 singles and duplicates, some 800 of them representing 1981. There are also approximately 500 from ’85, 700 from ’87 and the rest from miscellaneous years. At the back of the binders you can anticipate coming across some “All-Stars” and some box bottom cards – a big stash from the ‘80s is coming your way if you’re the high bidder here.
