Two unique and intriguing oversized O-Pee-Chee issues are featured here and include some legendary star power, with close to half of a 1939-40 set present. Thirty-some are without obvious or drastic creases and in the VG, VG+ and VG-EX grades, with corner/edge wear and at times a light or small crease. The group includes #s 6-Syl Apps, 20-Busher Jackson, 38-Murray Patrick RC, 39-Neil Colville, 41-Flash Hollett, 72-Syd Howe, 75-Tiny Thompson and 85-Babe Pratt RC, with soiling affecting a border in the Apps and Howe examples. Blank backs are generally problem-free with intermittent light soiling observed. Among five lower grade cards are 14-Schriner, 66-Goodfellow, 76-Seibert and 95-Clapper, with back damage observed on six commoners and a pinhole at the top of 25-Gagnon and 92-Weiland RC. ...Meanwhile, more difficult to track down are ’40-41 OPCs, with the 22 here led by an encapsulated Turk Broda card, graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. The others display decently (and like the ’39-40s) but 15 of them are affected by either staining or back damage from once having been affixed. A card of 101-Toe Blake has partially-erased writing on the reverse, 116-Reardon RC has clear not-drastic glue residue on the back and 131-Max Bentley RC includes moisture staining front and back. Others contributing are 122-Schriner, 139-Kerr and the last card, 150-Goodman RC (yellow corner stain), along with #s 102, 103, 105-Mowers RC, 107, 111, 117, 120, 127, 129, 134-Crawford RC, 135, 137, 138-Bruneteau, 140 and 147. Intriguing vintage images/collectibles to consider.
