Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Put together over the years is this batch of 1958-59 Parkies, evidenced by the varying levels of toning observed both front and back, with several other noteworthy aspects to point out, some of them curious. A Henri Richard card is in an early KSA holder which is labeled 7-NM, with card #2 appearing in the EX neighborhood and nowhere near the same as 30-Ab McDonald RC, slabbed NM 7 by PSA. Minimal creasing among the rest is to report, with corner wear usually the grade-lowering flaw. An EX-MT #7-Armstrong breaks through action card is a condition standout, with ten EX entries led by a lightly-toned Maurice Richard example and rookie cards of 13-Nevin and 16-Backstrom. Not quite EX but close are stars Plante (wax-stained reverse), Horton, Armstrong and Harvey. Most of the rest are in the VG, VG+ and VG-EX realm, with Mahovlich, Beliveau and Bower at VG. With back damage is 1-Pulford comes close (two scotch tape stains), while with clear glue residue but no paper loss are 25-Reay, 27-Olmstead and 50-Cullen. Wax stains affect the backs of four others including Geoffrion (otherwise VG-EX). A good set to break up is our thought – old Parkies always find takers.
