A member of the Triple Gold Club and the only Swede who has won each of the three competitions twice, Peter Forsberg spent the majority of his HOF career with Colorado, winning a pair of Stanley Cups in Denver in 1996 and 2001. This photo-matched Avalanche jersey was worn by Forsberg during the 1997 Stanley Cup playoffs. Starter and Center Ice labeling with handwritten “P” are affixed to the collar (“P” for “playoffs”), with embroidered Starter and NHL logos over the back bottom hem. Featuring a large and partially embroidered Avs team crest, the V-neck sweater has been accented with textured tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate Bigfoot crests over each shoulder. A pair of LOAs will accompany.
Sporting just a few marks on the front and reverse, there are burns over the right sleeve’s elbow section which includes a small resulting hole, with five team repairs on the left elbow. Getty Images #1389247 (May 22, 1997) has been matched to the team repair on the left shoulder and the team repairs and marks on the left sleeve, while Getty Images #302749 (May 19, 1997) has been matched to marks on the left sleeve. We should also note that one of the accompanying LOAs comes from Claude Lemieux, who incorrectly lists the jersey as 1998-99.
