The five key rookie cards in Parkhurst’s 1952-53 set are involved here, with some other non-NHL cards nifty complements. With countless creases and back damage is Tim Horton’s RC, with those of Dickie Moore (G), George Armstrong (F-G and markedly wider than the rest) and Leo Boivin (VG+) displaying better and that of #105-Bob Hassard (P) also present. Also notable are five VG commons and the stars who contribute to the (P-F-G) rest; 21-Stanley, 22-Rayner, 31-Rollins, 67-Kelly and 70-Schmidt. The aforementioned “others” include a Herbie Carnegie card (F), a trimmed ’52-53 St. Lawrence Sales card of Larry Kwong, Harry Sinden in his junior days with Oshawa (’52-53 Juniors Blue Tint #85)(VG) and two cards picturing Floyd Crawford in his Chicoutimi and Rimouski senior uniforms. Completing are four circa-1951 miniature cards that were once part of 13-card accordion-style strips offered in a capsule and bubble gum type vending. They picture George Allen, Bobby Bauer, Mud Bruneteau and Wilf Field. A ’52-53 duplicate Parkie of 78-Johnny Peirson is also to note.
