Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/14/2022
An amazing and stirring (and lengthy!) labor of love offered here will have Canadiens and autograph fiends oohing and aahing and contemplating, with yes, seven Quaker Oats photos signed by Maurice Richard. With three of the more difficult versions present, the usual flaws are present including toning and light creases, with one also showing a small hole but do not ever shadow the Rocket’s bold flowing signature that is found over each image. Other deceased Hall of Famers contributing to the collection with their presence include the likes of Elmer Lach (6 – 2 variations), “Boom Boom” Geoffrion, Butch Bouchard (4 – 2 variations), Ken Reardon (4 – 2 variations), Dickie Moore, Tom Johnson (2) and Bert Olmstead. The supporting cast signing roster is outlined below and includes some scarcer photo versions, with the photos generally displaying well, with the common handling wear seen in varying degrees along with pinholes, toning, small tears, liquid damage, tape residue and light creasing. Blue and black marker autographs dominate, with ballpoint sigs also present. A plethora of possibilities await with this legendary Habs grouping.
The other signers are, Gerry Plamondon, (2 – with one having been personalized), Tod Campeau, Leo Gravelle (3 diff – with one of the photos having creasing and liquid damage), Paul Masnick, Paul Meger (2 – with one having tape residue), Calum MacKay (2), Rip Riopelle (2 diff – still is signed front and back), Ken Mosdell (2 diff), Bob Fillion (2 diff – one with Stanley Cup inscription), Billy Reay (2 diff), Normand Dussault (2 diff), Ed Dorohoy, George Robertson, Dick Gamble, John McCormack, Vern Kaiser, Hal Laycoe (heavy wear), Dutch Hiller, Gerry McNeil and Dollard St. Laurent.
