A three-time Stanley Cup champion with appearances at four NHL All-Star Games throughout his HOF career, Rogie Vachon spent parts of sixteen seasons tending NHL nets while also representing our nation at the 1976 Canada Cup. This stick was used by the superstar during the late-1970s/early-1980s, with this specific type of model seeing use in 1979-80 (Detroit Red Wings) and 1980-81 (Boston Bruins). A Vic Pro 1000 model, “Vachon” is printed over the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade and knob intact. “52” is stamped to the underside of the handle with most of the striping accent gone, with the accent over the lower paddle intact.
Great game-use is exhibited on the vintage lumber, with a number of puck marks covering the front side blade, with a few small specs of red paint transfer visible on the upper shaft. The blade also appears to have a thicker layer of fiberglass wrap originally affixed than normally found. Rogie has added a thin ballpoint signature with a personalization to the reverse blade, with the signature quite light and hard to see.
