Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Lagging slightly behind their main competitor Spalding, who first entered the north-of-the-border market in the late 19th century, Reach first opened shop in Canada in Ontario, and began producing their famous sporting goods for Canadian customers in approx 1908. This lot offers a pair of vintage Reach baseballs from the 1930s/40s in their original boxes that were produced in Canada, including a rarely seen Official American League William Harridge example. Each box differs slightly and remains in gorgeous high grade, with both featuring the pleasing Reach logo in script – their most attractive branding, with the Harridge example sporting blue ink stampings that have bled into the material along with moderate toning and a few minor scuff marks. The additional baseball is a “Major League” JRPO specimen with black ink stampings, and it remains in beautiful NOS condition.
