Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
With the blockbuster trade at the 1990 NHL Entry Draft illustrating his substantial worth, Dale Hawerchuk - along with Winnipeg's 1st round choice in the draft - were dealt to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Phil Housley, Scott Arniel, Jeff Parker and Buffalo's 1st round choice. Ducky would skate in five seasons for the Sabres and average just over 92 points-per-season from 1990-91 to 1993-94. From his time in upstate NY during the early-1990s, we have uniform pants and skates worn by Hawerchuk with Buffalo. First, the skates are Bauer Supreme Custom 1000 models with Tuuk Plus blade holders. Sporting intact lacing, each skate has "10" handwritten on the underside and shows heavy use with numerous cuts to the material over the toe sections as well as considerable marks, cuts and paint transfer to the blade holders. There is also a bit of spot rusting to the blades, with salting to the upper lacing grommets. The pants are CCM Supra models in Buffalo blue with gold striping bands and a Sabres logo affixed to the left pant leg. Heavier game-use is exhibited with wear to the material throughout including a few burn and transfer marks, with complete soiling/rusting to the upper hidden clasps. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA from the Hawerchuk family will accompany.
