Duplication is a good thing when we're talking Julius Erving rookie cards, right? Not one but two Dr. J rookies highlight this batch of 1972-73 Topps cards, with 172 different cards present and some 350 total. EX-MT to NM cards combine to dominate, with some superior examples to discover and a small percentage lesser. With less-than-perfect centering are the two Erving RCs and we'd say otherwise EX-MT+ for both. There are no Phil Jackson rookies and numerous star cards are also not present, but there are either two or three of the following notables: 7-Cowens, 25-Robertson, 44-Barry, 60-Frazier, 144-Riley, 183-McInnis RC, 230-Issel (5) and other stars. There are two of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's regular (#100) card but one has "no. 33" in pen on the back, with the other badly miscut, similar to a dozen others throughout. Kareem however appears on over a dozen various leader cards, with Wilt Chamberlain showing up multiple times, as well as on his 168-All-Star representative. Let's face it, the Dr. J rookies carry most of the appeal, but well over 300 complements are appreciated bonuses and up the number of possibilities.
