Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Less than two weeks before the Molson Centre was to host its first game and five days before the Montreal Forum was to hold its last, the Canadiens paid a visit to their new arena on March 6, 1996 to hold their first practice and get a feel for their new home. This large print has been matted and features a metallic plate that notes the date of the event. There is some scuffing and scratches on the front side, which is understandable since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, look for two removable narrow pieces of wood which have been affixed by screws to assist in the mounting of the piece. The bottom piece also has rubber adhesive residue and the backing paper does show paint spatter, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique item. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
