Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The Montreal Canadiens played a smart defensive game in the mid-to-late 1980s thanks to players like Guy Carbonneau up front and the duo of Chris Chelios and Larry Robinson on the blue line. It is no coincidence that all three players are in the Hockey Hall of Fame due to their success on the ice for Montreal. There are a few minor scuffs on the front and corners of the frame as to be expected from hanging in one of hockey's holy temples, but it will display nicely in your home or office. Some of the lamination along the front edges does show signs of wear and some peeling at the bottom, but the photo remains intact. On the back, there are two screws affixed to the frame and a mark of "A9" in grease pencil. However, this will in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
