Making the transition from the WHA to the NHL in the summer of 1978, Anders Hedberg had previously starred in the rebel league, and was named to either the First or Second WHA All-Star Team in each of his four seasons. The talented Swede would again be recognized as an All-Star by the NHL, representing the Wales Conference at the 1985 All-Star Game where he played on a line with notable teenagers Mario Lemieux and Kirk Muller. The Wales would defeat the Campbell Conference 6-4, with Hedberg scoring a second period goal assisted by Lemieux while wearing the offered jersey. A partially-detached CCM label and born-on date tag of “85 01” are affixed to the collar, with the vintage sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 54. Styled with “Wales” placed diagonally across the chest in drop-shadow tackle twill, the important V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers in matching material, with differing NHL shield crests over each shoulder. Rows of single white twill stars also grace the lower front, reverse and sleeves, with “Hedberg” sewn to the upper reverse. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Anders Hedberg will accompany.
Worn for just a single contest, the jersey exhibits light wear with a small tear over the lower front and no large obtrusive marks.
